Well, here I go...
Hey, everybody! Sorry I'm so late in my posting, but the computers back at school were giving me a hard time, then again that's my own fault for not understanding blogspot. You know, this is going to sound really weird, but when I hit chapter 10 ( I'm not giving anything away!) I started to see Scout as a real person I can relate with instead of just another character in a book. She's not the only character I like, everyone else in the story (with the exemption of a few) are people that I really care about. Overall, Atticus is the best. He's a great father and an all around good man. There's really nothing more I can say about him, except for even more positive adjectives and I don't want a whole post about that because that would be monotonous.
Francis is really annoying. He sounds like he's ashamed of racial tolerance and criticizes Atticus and Scout of being, quote, "nigger lovers." ( I hate that word, don't you?) He's a pain, but that didn't give Scout any excuse to punch him. She was just trying to protect her family's pride, but she should have controlled her temper like she did with that other kid. I'd probably be fighting ever nerve in my body not to smack him, but just tell me for the sake of debate, how would you cope in a situation like this? Please comment, I'd appreciate it. :)

Duchess, Congratulations on a very interesting blog. I experience that same phenomenon when I read this book; I feel like I know the characters and care about what will happen to them. You'd be a good blogger to explain why Harper Lee called this a love story. Where do you suppose a kid as young as Francis learns to be so intolerant? You raise some good points. Thanks for your patience in blogging. Glad you're on!

It's sad that Francis learned racism from his parents. That's probably the same reason that Burris Ewell is so disrespectful to his teacher and never attends school, because his parents didn't teach him any better.
