I chose this picture because I really adore the mothers and fathers who can keep thier family together through all the stuff they have to go through. The picture is taken on the porch of a plantation during the afternoon. There are exactly eight people in this photo.I don't know exactly if this is a family, or how old the people are in this picture. I would say that the children are probably 2 and older and the adults are probably about 40 ir 45. They people are wearing white rugged worn down clothes with no shoes. The children are very cute.
It really angers me to see pictures like this thought because seriously, who care if someone has a different shade of skin? What if white people were slaves? It's not like colored or foreign people are any different that us. They have eyes, ears, noses, feelings...everything that any othe human has right? So why were they punished for being a human just like me and you?
Looking at this picture makes me realize how different life was for those individuals 200 years ago and how different life was for them even 50 years ago. Even today our country has a problem with descrimination. I thought the United States was the land of the free right? Then why do white women still get descriminated against for marriying a black man? (Vise Versa) Why do some men still think that women are only good for cooking, taking care of kids, and things of that nature? Were not. We are people just like everyone else.
I think that everyone should realize that this is still a problem and that only we can fix this. Who cares if someones skin is different colored that yours???

I also agree with your message, it makes me mad that people were treated the way they were for their skin color.
Nice Post!:~)
