Evil Old Women

I have to admit that i really enjoyed the reading last night. I started reading in between inning of the cardinals game and i read right through a few innings. lol.
at first i really hated mrs. dubose! she was so mean to jem and scout! it surprised me that a grown lady was so rude. she would talk bad about atticus behind his back and then be nice to him when he was around. i wonder if she really meant it, or if she was just trying to make jem mad.
but then when i read about how she overcame her morphine addiction. i felt sorry for her, and even admired how brave and determined she was. most people wouldnt try to break their addiction if they knew they were going to die anyway. so now i have mixed feelings about her. she was so cruel, and even though being sick didnt give her the right to be that way, it did make me understand what she must have been going through. you have to respect someone who works that hard to overcome addiction even though they will die when they suceed.
well, thats all i have to say.
