What makes a muskrat guard his musk? Courage!

When asked what courage means to me, I have several thoughts on the subject. Courage, like Atticus described, is to "Do what you have to do, even though you're going to be licked." It also means having the faith in yourself to stand up for your beliefs even though you'll pay for it. One of my favorite quotes about courage is by Winston Churchill who said, " Do you have enemies? Good. That means you stood up for something for once in your life." I think that the bravest people are soldiers, cops, and firemen who boldly put their lives on the line all the time to make life easier for the rest of us. Cancer survivors and other disease sufferers or sufferers of oppression are heroes in a different kind of way and are celebrated by their courage to try to stay positive and live their lives even though they know the seriousness of their conditions. These people really deserve to be respected and celebrated for what they do and how they live.
