Freedom of Speech

Ms. James gave my table the article about the Soweto protests in 1976. What is most shocking about these protests is that instead of adults doing the protesting, children did. They protested during their school day. As you listen to the article, you can feel the reading build up. How many of us would join a protest in our school? In my last post I did, I talked about this, and I said I wouldn't. But, I would just be repeating myself if I wrote the reasons why again. Within 36 hours after the protest, 29 people were dead and 250 were injured. It is really sad. I can't believe white police officers would fire on these young children! This picture shows the extent the police officers took. They bombed places and tried to shoot everyone. Get this, the children didn't start a riot or anything, they were exercising there freedom of speech, but I guess the police officers decided that the children didn't have this right.

Wow, all of you guys are typing about such "uplifting" topics. They killed children just because they were protesting. AHHHH! What is the world coming to. I think I have to put this one on my list to look up too.
