Renew the soul!

~*~ I just got back from a youth gathering in St. Louis, and I have so many swirling thoughts and feelings I just want to shout. Yes, this was a Christian gathering and NO I am not going to go on a full push my beliefs on you crusade, so stay tuned. (please. . . ) If you don't all ready know I have been kind of . . . well, what I would call "floating" around without a purpose. I can't really describe the feeling, I was basically lost in my own world. High school is fun and all, but some times I think well all need a break. Right?!?!? Right. :) that's what I thought. Anyway, there was a band at this gathering called Daniels Window, and they were AMAZING! I was completely blown away by there talent and how the music touched me. Music has always been part of me, but I truly never paid that much attention to it, not literally at least. O.k. I know this is off topic, but trust me it ties in. . . so hang in there. We are told that in high school we learn to be the people we are going to be in life, high school is the journey of finding your true self. Well, that is good and all, but I don't totally agree with it. At this gathering, the music there touched me and I was . . . well, lets just say I am not all that emotional and I was one of the many that cried. I have been going through a lot, and this gathering helped me jump some "hurdles" and break down some "walls" in my life. After this gathering I felt and still do, like a new person, I am SO happy. I truly am! Music was my wake up call, it was what touched my and I hope continues to change me into the person I want to become. There was a word that sums my experience here, I RENEWED my faith, in others, in life, and most of all in myself. This weekend I will never forget! I am so happy. . . so happy.

Isn't it weird how musics makes you feel better? I mean, i could be in the most horrible mood, but if an old Tom Petty or a Keb Moe song comes on the radio, I feel really happy and get better! Glad that you had an exciting weekend!
