Would a Rose Still Be a Rose if Called By Another Name. . .

~*~ Sorry I couldn't post earlier, I just couldn't concentrate in class today. Everything ached and I just plainly out was in so much pain. So right after school, I went to the doctor and here is the update; sinus infection, sore throat, and 2 ear infections. WOW! No wonder I didn't feel good. Anyway, I am a little better now, I am on two prescriptions and guzzling down the liquids. Hopefully I'll feel better for tomorrow, I just have to because of finals. :/
~*~ Now to the main "stuff," what would I change in the romance novel, Romeo and Juliet. Well, I truly liked the book the way it was, but like all great thinkers there is the saying, "Why, there is always room for improvement." (never did like that in middle school!) Anyway, taking another glance at the book, I guess I would tweak it in a few spots. . . The first thing that would HAVE to go would be the ages of the two lovers, I mean a girl not even fourteen and a young man of twenty. That just is not . . . well, right. The thing that I would also throw away would be the ending, I just didn't like the ending. If I could re-write the final scene of this play it would be a little different. I would still have the two lovers die, mainly because that is what makes this play to great. The thing at the end with the two families, the whole I'll bury this kid in this spot and I'll place a piece of rock over the other kid, hug, hug, everything is happily ever after. YUCK! What was Shakespeare thinking! To replace this "love-duddy" stuff I would stick in a more REALILISTIC ending. The whole book was dramatic, so I would like a ending with not so much drama, but an ending that tied the whole book together. I would have mucked preferred it Friar Laurence told his part, the Price screams his head off, and that's that. END! No more drama, no more blood, no more nothing. Just a short non-dramatic ending. AHHHH! Good to get out of the system, o.k., I'm done.
~*~ I am curious to hear your guys opinions, so comment PLEASE. Well, enough for now, I get to go take my medicine (YEAH!), so see you guys soon, and good luck on your finals. :)
