Dill's back!
I can't believe Aunt Alexandria thinks that she can just come into the Finch's house, and start disiplining Scout and Jem. I would have exploded if I were Scout when Aunt Alexandria told Scout that she couldn't go to Calpurnia's house. I mean Scout wasn't even talking to her aunt, she was asking permission from her father, but noooo Aunt Alexandria thinks that she is all poweful and mighty. Does anyone else think this? I am surprised that Atticus allows his sister to have such a control in his house, when she moved in without really asking, she just decided that she could move in. Oh, I would be so mad if someone in my family decided to move in without asking!
Anyway, I started to laugh out loud when Jem found Dill hiding under Scout's bed! I thought it was pretty funny how Scout thought that there was a snake under her bed, and asked Jem to help her get it out, but it wasn't a snake, it was Dill! Was the people who he was staying with his real parents, or is it like foster or extened family?
What were all of those men doing outside of the jailhouse in Chapter15? I bet it would be fun to escape out of your house late at night and just walk down town. Too bad Springfield is too big for us to just get up and take a walk to some place like that. I was confused reading this chapter. Can anyone fill me in on what happened!!??
I am really enjoying this book! I really thought that I wouldn't, but it has really surprised me. What do you guys think the title relates to? I am kinda thinking that 'mockingbird' is meaning someone who is spreading rumors or mocking someone. For example all of the nasty talk the Finch's are recieving about the Tim Robinson case, and how they are responding to it. Am I making sense? Anyway, what do you think it means?
