She's Baaaaaack...
Hey everybody! There's been an explosion of posts since the last time I came up on here! Well, Aunt Alexandria has come to stay with Jem and Scout to teach them how to behave like "proper gentlemen and ladies," something those two aren't looking forward to. The Aunt sometimes gets into heated debates with Atticus on how to raise children. I think that Atticus should be in charge of his own children and raise them however he pleases, but the Aunt is probably so worried about how he's raising them that she has to jump in and patrol them.
Earlier in the two chapters though, Scout and Jem went with Calpurnia to go to First Purchase, an African American Church. However, the group is almost stopped from entering the Church by a black lady named Lula. Lula says that white people aren't allowed in a black church. This part tells me that racism can come from anyone, black or white. In the end though, the three are allowed to worship without any trouble. Well, there's really nothing more I can say...so...bye!
