Memiors of a Geisha

This is my free reading book right now (obviously). I am 100 pages into it and it is really good! It is about Chiyo, a little nine year old girl, who is taken from her home along with her sister when her mother is deathly ill. She is separated from her sister and is placed in an okiya, a place where geiha are trained, where she feels very alone, and is worked very hard.
This book is like Jane Pittman in that it seems like it is a true story, but it is actually historical fiction. The author interviewed a geisha, but only for background info. The geisha, Mineko Iwasaki, that he interviewed later sued him. You can read more into this on this website:
