These are quality books...NOT!!!

I can't believe how mad the teacher got at Little Man about the reader! I mean, poor Little Man didn't really raise a stink, he just went and asked politely for an exchange and she hauls off and whips him! He got so mad when he saw the inside cover, and I can't really blame him. There's a long list of white students who got it when it was in perfect condition and then there's a column that says "very poor" and to the side of that it says "n*gra." When Cassie told the teacher about the offensive column, she just responded in the most heartless tone, " That's what you are." What race were the teachers in all black schools? Were they white or black, because the teachers harshness towards her students tells me that she might have been a racist Southern white lady. I don't care for her very much, she's really beginning to rub me the wrong way in the book.
