When pulling this adress up it reveals a young African American boy. This boy to an average person is nothing special, just a young child. Taking a closer look into his background I found something a little more distinct. The juvenile face is one of the mainy orphans of the times after the Civil War. When reading this fact, the picture only seemed more real to me. How life had such a depth back then and even now. Wars pull families apart and sometimes even destroy them. Its all over the history books, on T.V., screaming it on the radio, and is even found within our society. Hate is something that destroys, never builds up. Through Miss Jane Pittman, we see this hate lash out through the deploided soldiers. They kill free slaves only for the personal revenge to the Nothern states and its people. Hate, revenge, they only equal destruction in the end. It destoyed Ticey's family, and it destroyed Ned's for sure. When looking into the eyes of this orphan, I see Ned, looking for someone to lean on. What do you see?
